A sweet antique mid-Victorian bar brooch depicting a length of 9ct gold curb chain with a swallow in the centre holding a heart charm. It’s decorated with white seed pearls and three sky-blue turquoise. 

Swallows are known to mate for life and said to always return home to the nest, making them a powerful symbol of everlasting love, joy and faithfulness. They were especially popular in the Victorian era and gifted as romantic tokens by lovers during long periods of separation.
